CNY 2010 (Chinese New Year 2010) is approaching. All Chinatown glitzy night markets are virtually filled with red decorative items for sale. The night streets lit up with idyllic decoration of feeble light and it is noteworthily visible when you are on top of the bridge. You can even see a hulking structure of 财神爷 (god of wealth) beside the stage.
There are many shops selling a myriad of CNY necessity such as a permutation of red packets, lanterns and thousands of other decorative items. The night market is opened for 24 hours and this is indeed extraordinary when the streets are perpetually filled with remarkably lots of shoppers even after midnight. Furthermore, it is hard for people to cut through the crowd.
CNY 2010 is represented with a chinese zodiac of Tiger so don't be surprise if Singapore zoo brought a few tigers out to the city for a night walk like CNY 2009 where a few oxen were brought to Loyang temple, albeit it is impossible. We are apt to see an influx of shoppers and tourists when CNY is approaching. Everyone should be more curtailed in their spending because there are lot more to spend when CNY is drawing nearer.
There are a flair of lion dances competition at Clarke Quay, alluring thousands of people in the precinct. Firework will be the most entertaining event held on every saturday (9:30pm) at Clarke Quay so drop by to watch if you happen to be free. Many more interesting celebration and photographs will be updated here as time approached so check it out frequently in my website.
