I find that I somehow get very interested in medicine but I could not study in medicine. Firstly, you need to be a very elite person. Secondly, the tuition fee cost more than a bomb. I went for a medical appointment yesterday and the doctor said that I might have hyperthyroidism or overactive adrenal gland that causes me to look super skinny. I don't have goiter or neuroblastoma cancer so no worry. I always have those weird "brain tightening and breath holding" spell which I am very interested to find out if it was a seizure or just a panic attack. Since young, I never see a specialist for being severely underweight since medical bills are expensive so I am highly dependent on Singaporean tax payer.
Since the government wants all the guys to serve NS, they are providing totally free medical benefit for all army man. I am taking advantages of this system to diagnose all the small and big problems I have which I suffered since young. Without NS, I will not know that I have Allergic Rhinitis, Atopic Dermatitis, Hyperthyroidism (not confirmed, awaiting for laboratory datas) and no anemia which I previously thought I have since my mum has a low hemoglobin concentration in her red blood cells (inherity) and I always feel dizzy.
Well, each medical appointment could incur a lump sum bill of $300 which is liked "I can buy new handphone and PSP" type of feeling. No doubt I have spent the government $1000 to $2000 for my medical bill since 3 months. Maybe I should use taxpayer instead of government fund. I am also one of the taxpaper in Singapore who paid more than a thousand since young so it is more than compromising that lump sum. Remember, you may have a medical problem that is not diagnosed yet either because you are poor or lazy to see a doctor, many fat people do not know that they have hypothyroidism, BEWARE!
My average blood pressure today is 108/65 mmHg while my average heart beat is 73 pulse per minute. Pulse pressure is 43mmHg. I have normal blood pressure and a healthy heart. At evening, I went to Military Medical Centre (MMI) for medical board and it took me freaking 30 minutes to manoeuvre around National University Hospital (NUH) before I found the DSO building.
My Medical Officer (MO) was there too. When I saw Matthew walking into the consultation room, he came out in a split of seconds, I got shocked by such a fast move. When it came to my turn, the moment I went in, "Good Morning Sir, PTE Ng Weide, no drug allergy." By the way, it was afternoon as I was too nervous and said morning instead because I got shocked when there were A LOT of captains, majors and lieutenant colonel inside the room looking at me to decide my PES and I can tell you how scary it was just to go into that freaking tight room with so many eyes on me! Anyway, I got down PES to either C9L2 or C2L2.
My Institute Sergeant Major (ISM) calling us to participate for live firing games and swimming competition. LOL!!! My first question: "you tell us to participate." Well, one day off if we participate. This off day is very precious for us if we participate, if not then need to book in at most for that day.
